South Paw Boxing Club - Mumbai In India my fellow photographer Mads Holm Jensen and I visited a voluntary runned boxing club in the slum of Mumbai. The boys are training extremely hard every single day from 6 to 8 p.m. They start their training at Mumbai Race Course by running a couple of kilometers. After some warm-up they fight 1 vs. 1. After an hour they walk from the course to a small training room. In the room a glass cabinet is hanging on one of the decayed walls containing some trophies and the 8-10 boys must share only one punchbag. At the end of the training they are doing some hard exercise. The club is runned by the 40-year old ex-champion boxer who trains the boys voluntary. He is keeping the boys alive and give them something to fight for. If the boys were not training they would probably just hang out in the streets, so the club is keeping them out of troubles and strenghes their self-esteem. - Many thanks to the club for letting us make this picture story! | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> | ![]() Gem på lysbord >> |
